Students will learn about the alphabet and how to identify letters and sounds. Students will learn sentence structure and how words are used in sentences to make meaning. Students will enhance their word recognition and decoding skills through word searches and practice using sight words. Students will learn language comprehension and sentence structure. Students will learn about phonics and how sounds blend into letters. Students will learn to use active listening skills in read-aloud sessions and comprehend texts.
Learning the alphabets as that is the first stage of a beginner reader level. Identifying text directionality.
Students will learn how to use letters from the alphabet to make new words by sounding and blending words together. Identifying key words in text.
